
Juniors: As many of you are aware, this Wednesday, October 16, you will take the PSAT. This is the precursor to the SAT, which is one of two college admissions tests (the other being the ACT). While this test score will not be reported to colleges and universities to which you apply, it is the only test that can qualify you for a National Merit Scholarship, which start at $2500.
Testing Logistics for Wednesday 10/16/19

Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00 in BHS Cafeteria.

Arrive at BHS no later than 8:00AM, and report to your testing classroom (will be posted on windows of Attendance Office Monday afternoon);

Section 1: Reading – 60 minutes

Section 2: Writing – 35 minutes

Section 3: Math (calculator optional) – 70 minutes

Section 4: Math (no calculator) – 25 minutes

There will be a 5 minute break after every hour of testing.

You will be released from testing around 11:30, and sent to lunch; from there, your afternoon schedule will be as follows:

Block 3: 12:10 – 12:50

Block 4: 12:55 – 1:35

Block 1: 1:40 – 2:20

Block 2: 2:25 – 3:05

Important Calculator Info It is highly encouraged that you have a calculator for this test, and you may NOT use a cell phone calculator. If you do not have one to bring, then BHS will be providing calculators in your testing classroom. See your proctor the morning of testing to request one. Please make sure you get a good sleep the night prior to the test, and have a healthy breakfast that morning prior to testing. Your test results will be sent by the end of December, and your counselor will be reaching out to you with these in January.
