Update on PLPs
We were unable to hold in-person PLP Senior-Led Conferences on March 26th and March 27th due to the school building being closed. Since that time we have been working to determine the best path forward. We took in consideration all that is going on and developed a way for students to “Turn In” their PLP. The Personal Learning Plan (PLP) is still required as it demonstrates evidence Seniors have met the BHS Graduate Expectations. However, students will not have on-line or virtual conferences. Instead they will simply “Turn In” their PLPs. While not ideal, we do not want overwhelm students by trying to coordinate an on-line conference. Seniors and PLP Advisors have worked diligently since the end of January and the ability to “Turn In” their PLPs will honor this work.
Next Steps for Seniors
The week of April 6th Seniors received emails from their PLP Advisor and the email account BHS Advisory. Students were emailed a PLP checklist and a link to a google form to submit their PLP. The expectation is Seniors review the checklist and then submit their PLP. Ideally PLPs should be submitted by April 17th. After PLPs are submitted, they will be reviewed and students will receive confirmation they have met the BHS Graduate Expectations. If there is information missing, students will be contacted and we will work with students to complete necessary components.
During our remote learning, the PLP Advisors will continue to be the point person for Seniors. Questions should be directed to PLP Advisors or the PLP District Coordinator Gayle Botelho gbotelho@bsdvt.org.
