Students in 9th-12th grade participate in grade-based Advisories. Advisory Block is divided into Advisory activities, Office Hours, and Connections. This year, all students have advisory at the same time (1:25-1:55) between Blocks 3 & 4.
Advisory Schedule
Advisory: (Mondays & Tuesday) Community building and scheduling office hours for the week. Occasionally, announcements; PLP work supported by faculty advisors; advisory check ins.
Office Hours: (Wednesdays & Thursdays) Students will be able to meet with teachers they have for class to get support with their learning. Office Hours provides an opportunity for enrichment for a class (opportunity to learn more) and extra help (a time to get caught up or be retaught content).
Choice Time: Choice Time happens on some Fridays beginning in November during the advisory block as a time students can participate in clubs; other activities such as weekly walking groups, art, or spike ball; get support from content area teachers in a study hall; or get help with their PLP. Students choose ONE activity to do for choice time for the week and are expected to stay in that activity for the entirety of the advisory block.
