Dear BHS Community,
I am thrilled to announce that last night the Burlington Board of School Commissioners unanimously approved my recommendation that Sabrina Westdijk be named Interim Principal of BHS for the remainder of the year.
Principal Westdijk has done an impressive job stepping into the principal role these past few months. She has quickly built trust with staff and built new relationships with students while fostering previous relationships formed at EMS. In addition, she has been quick to respond to staff, students, and families in a thoughtful manner and has great vision on how to finish the year strong. I know Principal Westdijk is deeply invested in BSD and the success of our students and I am excited for her to be Interim Principal at Burlington High School.
With this hire official, we will turn our attention to filling the anticipated interim assistant principal position as soon as possible. We will also work with HR to begin the hiring process for the next principal, who will begin July 1, 2024.
