Our Philosophy about Attendance
We expect students to attend class because we want each and every student to be successful in high school and beyond. Attending class in-person is important for belonging, connecting students with peers and adults, and deeper learning. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to support students in attending class.
Student responsibilities for attendance
- Get to class on time.
- Stay in class.
- Communicate with teachers when you are absent, or if you need more support.
- Make up the missed learning and class work. This does not include skipping one class to do work for another.
How parents/guardians can help
- Communicate to your student the importance of attending class.
- Contact BHS Attendance at 802-864-8411 or dtbhsattendance@bsdvt.org when your child is absent and briefly explain the reason why.
- Contact your student’s school counselor if you need more support or clarification.
