Spring 2019 8th Grade Welcome Night
On Thursday, June 6, BHS held it’s Spring 2019 8th Grade Welcome Night. The evening was designed to provide families with information on next steps for the start of the Freshman year at BHS. Students were provided DRAFT schedules for next year and given a tour by current BHS students. Parents met with staff in the auditorium to hear about subjects including: the start of the school year, upcoming events that parents are encouraged to attend during the Fall season, ways to stay connected to BHS and ways to support their students as they transition from middle school to high school. Thanks to our Multilingual Liaisons, interpretation was provided for our EL families. Thanks also to all who helped to make this evening happen and to all those who attended.
Please note for those who were not able to attend we are sending student schedules to the middle school early next week for distribution to students. We are reiterating that these schedules do not reflect advisory, study hall or lunch assignments, these will be added over the summer and students will receive final schedules on the first day of school at Freshman Orientation. It is possible that some schedules may shift slightly over the summer as we continue to make adjustments and necessary changes.

8th Grade Information Night
On Monday, February 4, BHS held it’s 8th Grade Parent Information Night. Approximately 300 guests attended for dinner, information, and some great performances by the BHS Dance Team. The evening was designed to introduce families to the school, our staff and elements of our programming. Families heard about next steps for 8th graders and getting ready for high school. General information was provided on course registration and the process 8th graders and staff will be involved with in the coming months. After a presentation in the auditorium, families met with staff in the cafeteria for informal question and answer opportunities and general information gathering. Thanks to our Multilingual Liaisons, interpretation was provided for our EL families. Thanks to all who helped to make this evening happen and to all those who attended.
8th grade families and students will be invited back in late May for another informational evening and opportunity to meet with staff. Stay tuned….
